Buy rate vs sell rate - which one matters?

NRB lists two prices. Here is how to read them without getting lost.

3 min read · FX

Every NRB currency row has a buy and a sell rate.

  • Buy - the rate at which NRB indicates buying foreign currency (in NPR terms).
  • Sell - the rate associated with selling foreign currency to the market.

Always compare the all-in NPR your recipient receives after fees, not only the headline rate on an app screen.
